Hi! I’m a yoga teacher, facilitator, and program designer.
Personal experience with persistent pain led me to leave an engineering career – and I ended up running away to the circus.
On a trapeze in an end-of-course show, I realised I was better, but that many people with pain were being told the best they could do with pain was to manage. I thought we could do better.
I went on to study a University Diploma in Yogic Education at the University of Lille, France, which was the start of my work in specialist yoga design. That training allowed me to turn my own experience in somatic and reflective practices into a yoga course that could help people with pain get their life back.
In 2015 this work led to establishing for-purpose organisation Yoga for Pain Care Australia, with a national training program for health professionals and yoga teachers. I have spoken about this work at TEDx, the International Society for Pain annual conference, and universities and hospitals.
I started practicing yoga in 1996 and am registered as a Level 2 Yoga Australia teacher.
